If you deal with mortgage brokers, banks, insurance companies, etc and their offices are in different time zones, you need to know what time it is where they are.
Keeping you eye on the time in both your time zone and time zone of a lender is important if documents and actions such as dates of notice, rate changes, expiration of rate locks and other factors which can affect your mortgage occur at a particular time. To keep things simple, you may want to request that any "times" mentioned in forms be specified using the time zone where the property to be mortgaged is located.
Remember, if it's 9:00am in Los Angeles, it's already noon in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Miami and other eastern time zone U.S. cities.
